Journalist James Marshment has claimed that Jack Harrison could be sold this summer for Leeds to sign an unbelievable striker.

Harrison has been linked with a move away from Leeds this summer, with fellow Premier League side Newcastle United interested in signing him, but with two years remaining on his current contract at Elland Road, it could take a huge fee to lure him away from the club.

The English winger signed for Leeds on an initial loan deal from Manchester City, and it was made permanent at the start of last season, and he has been a mainstay in the Leeds side over the past four years, making 166 appearances, whilst scoring 28 goals and chipping in with 22 assists.

With the links stating that Harrison has been rumoured to be on Newcastle’s wish list, Marshment claimed on the Just Joe Football Show YouTube channel that Leeds could sell him and use the money to bring in a striker.

“Potentially they could look at that situation and think, well maybe we could sell him and use that money to sign an unbelievable striker, a £50 million striker, I don’t know, for me Leeds would be weaker without Jack Harrison,” Marshment said.

TIF Thoughts on Marshment’s comments…

Leeds have already lost Kalvin Phillips to Manchester City, and it is looking like Raphinha will also be parting ways with the club, so Jesse Marsch is using the money acquired to upgrade the rest of the squad, after he has already spent £95.08 million on new talent this summer.

So, with two of Leeds’ main players expected to be gone this summer, even though they’re investing the money back into the squad, Marsch may not be keen to let another one of his star players leave (Harrison), and if they do want to purchase a new forward, then they could use some of the money that they will get from Raphinha.
