Journalist Dean Jones spoke with This Is Futbol and claimed that Tottenham Hotspur would be happy if they could sign Yves Bissouma in the summer transfer window.

There have been recent reports that Spurs are interested in signing Yves Bissouma in the summer transfer window from fellow Premier League club Brighton & Hove Albion, but they may face competition from Aston Villa, who are also interested in signing him.

Another player who is on the radar of Spurs ahead of the upcoming transfer window is Youri Tielemans, but they face competition for him from north London rivals Arsenal, who are keen to bring him to the Emirates.

When Jones was asked about the pair who are linked with Spurs, he claimed that if they did not get Tielemans, Bissouma would be a more than adequate alternative.

He said: “Certainly, if they didn’t get him and they did get Yves Bissouma, then that would seem like, you know, a situation you would be happy with.”

TIF Thoughts on Jones’s comments…

Bissouma was one of the better performers for Brighton this season, in the Premier League, he averaged 40.7 accurate passes per game (5th highest), 2.9 tackles on average per game (highest in the squad), and 1.9 interceptions on average per game (highest in the squad), as per Sofascore.

The Mali international has been in impressive form for Brighton this season and his stats show this, so he could be a good option for Conte in the summer, especially as he is currently valued at just over £30 million.

With Spurs qualifying for the Champions League, Conte will most likely look to bolster the squad in the summer, due to the extended games that they will have to play, and bringing in Bissouma, who has Premier League experience with Brighton, would be a good, cheap option for the North London side.
