Journalist Jacque Talbot has claimed that Leeds United have a chance of signing Tyler Adams over the next few months in the transfer window.
Jesse Marsch has acted fast this summer in terms of bringing in players to Leeds, as he has completed the signings of Rasmus Kristensen, Brenden Aaronson and Marc Roca. Kristensen and Aaronson have worked previously with Marsch during their time at RB Salzburg.
Adams is the latest who has been linked with a move to Elland Road, and he is again someone who has previously worked with Marsch at the start of last season at RB Leipzig. Adams made 24 appearances in the Bundesliga last campaign and is just 23 years old.
Whilst speaking with GiveMeSport, Talbot highlighted Weston McKennie as a possible target for Leeds in the summer, but also claimed that there is more chance of them signing Adams.
Asked whether he could see the Whites displaying an interest in the former Schalke ace, he said: “Yeah, I think so. I think there is the link, this sort of contingent that’s going on between Leeds United, America, and the Bundesliga.
“I think there’s Tyler Adams as well. He played under Jesse Marsch last season before he was sacked in November, so that again is that link there. But I think Tyler Adams – probably a bit more of a chance for Leeds. He’d be a good one; he’d be a good player to get in.”
TIF Thoughts on Talbot’s comments…
Although Adams, who has been dubbed an ‘elite’ player, featured 24 times in the Bundesliga last term, just 12 of those were from the start, so he might be looking for a move elsewhere in the hope of more regular game time, and with him having a connection with Marsch, a move to Leeds could suit all parties.
Should Leeds sell Phillips?
There have been strong links that Kalvin Phillips is going to leave the club in the summer, so Adams could be a good younger option who could come in as a replacement for the English international.
