Sky Sports reporter Michael Bridge has hailed the influence of Antonio Conte on the current Tottenham Hotspur squad amid reports over his future.
The Sky correspondent was speaking on the Last Word On Spurs YouTube channel to preview the upcoming North London Derby on Thursday.
Do you think Conte will be at Spurs next season?
A huge game awaits Spurs in N17 on Thursday night with a spot in the Champions League mathematically impossible if Arsenal take all three points.
However, Bridge discussed the positives amid the nerves with the Sky Sports man suggesting how much of an improvement Conte has brought to Hotspur Way since arriving in November:
“Speaking to a couple of players off-camera, they couldn’t speak highly enough of Conte. Like this manager what he’s done to me, how far he’s taken my game, but I think he’s reached a limit now with them.”
TIF Thoughts on Bridge’s comments…
It will certainly be a big summer ahead for Spurs regardless of whether they land a spot in the top four or not with Conte clearly expecting big investment in the window.
Bridge’s comments should only encourage the Spurs board to back Conte in the summer with the improvement on limited resources evident.
And in the one window he has had at Spurs, the additions of Dejan Kulusevski and Rodrigo Bentancur have been huge successes which, again, should encourage the board to trust Conte with the funds ahead of the summer.
