Leicester City are interested in the possibility of landing Christian Eriksen in the summer when he becomes a free agent.

This is according to Fabrizio Romano who was discussing the Dane’s future ahead of the summer on his latest Here We Go podcast.

Eriksen joined Brentford on a short-term deal back in January but with the deal ending soon, his future has been up for discussion with Tottenham Hotspur also believed to be interested.

The midfielder added another assist to his name on the weekend against Southampton with the Bees only losing one of their games in which Eriksen has started (via Transfermarkt).

Reports have suggested Brentford are not out of the running to tie Eriksen down to a longer deal but Romano believes Brendan Rodgers is a big fan of the 30-year-old:

“I would say Tottenham and Leicester because Brendan Rodgers is in love with Christian Eriksen. They are two clubs that are really interested in Christian Eriksen. But his priority, as we always say here, is to discuss with Brentford.”

TIF Thoughts on Romano’s comments…

It has been a sensational return to football for Eriksen who has hit the ground running in West London with a goal and three assists to his name in the league (via Transfermarkt).

There are question marks over the future of Youri Tielemans at the King Power Stadium ahead of the summer and if he does leave there will be six goals and three assists to replace for next season.

However, it has been reported by the reliable journalist Alasdair Gold that Eriksen is keen to remain in London for next season amid the reports over his future.
