Insider ExWHUemployee has revealed that West Ham United are prepared to sell Issa Diop in the transfer market this summer.

With just one game left to play before the Hammers’ campaign comes to an end, plans will quickly be formed on how to strengthen the squad in the summer.

One way to do that, of course, is to sell assets and reinvest that money in new players who may be more suited to the club. With that in mind, Ex has claimed that West Ham will ‘accept offers’ for Diop as they look to push him out the exit door in the near future.

Speaking on The West Ham Way podcast, he explained: “I think we will accept offers for Diop. I think the club want to sell him and will actively look to sell him in the summer.”

TIF thoughts on Issa Diop and West Ham…

According to L’Equipe (via Foot Mercato) West Ham have valued Diop at a price in the region of €15m (£12.6m) amid recent interest from Lyon – while Ligue 1 rivals Monaco are also linked.

Considering the defender has started just 10 times in the Premier League all season long, it’s hardly a shock to hear that David Moyes is potentially prepared to let the defender go. However, Craig Dawson was full of praise for his defensive partner earlier this season, calling him ‘excellent’.

Still, with a long summer ahead, it remains to be seen how prepared they are to sell him. Ex claims that the club will ‘actively look’ to sell Diop – but if that is the case, teams like Lyon may try and get him on the cheap by putting in bids below the club’s initial estimation.
