Chris Waugh has spoken on the latest episode of Pod on the Tyne about one big change Eddie Howe and PIF have made together at Newcastle United.

The Magpies have been on a meteoric rise of late with Eddie Howe overseeing 11 wins since he was appointed as Steve Bruce’s successor last year and while he was handed over £90 million to spend in January, that can’t be attributed to all the credit for this turnaround.

Under the ownership of PIF the future certainly appears to be bright at Newcastle and the entire turnaround of the club, not just the men’s team and its players, has been detailed by The Athletic duo of Chris Waugh and George Caulkin where they detail everything Howe and PIF have done behind the scenes.

Waugh has highlighted a key change that’s been instigated by Howe and PIF

The owners have been involved in that but certainly, Eddie Howe has driven that and it eventually has brought those results and the astonishing results we’ve seen so far in 2022.”

How well do you remember Newcastle's January transfer window? An easy one to start with: where did Newcastle sign Bruno Guimaraes from?

Newcastle have already won more league games this calendar year than they did in the entirety of 2021 which is a testament to the work Howe has done, which has involved a lot of changes behind the scene from motivational quotes in and around the club and a traditional match-winning photo after every game.

These little things are what will bring a squad closer together, even the players that are not featuring regularly, such as Jacob Murphy, who has been seen singing the famous Joelinton chant in a bar 0n Tyneside and is always very happy in team photos, despite only starting nine games under Howe.
