Dan Cook has been speaking on the HLTCO podcast about a potential return to Crystal Palace for Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

Crystal Palace appear to have certainly got the better end of the deal which saw academy graduate Wan-Bissaka leave the Eagles and take a big step up to play for Manchester United with the Red Devils splashing out £50 million for a full-back with just one full season of top-flight experience under his belt.

Would you welcome a Wan-Bissaka return?

No!

While Wan-Bissaka has made 126 appearances across all competitions for Man United, this season his form has taken a turn for the worse having started the fewest league games since he burst onto the scene back in 2018 and thus has been tipped for an exit.

Cook believes that Wan-Bissaka could well end up being the successor Palace have been looking for at right-back, since the full-back himself left.

(2:25) “I think if you look at our right-back situation, it’s something I’ve discussed many times on this podcast over the most recent 12 months. Nathan Ferguson’s fitness is still up for debate, you’ve got Joel Ward, and Nathaniel Clyne sort of filling in at right-back depending on who’s best suited for that role from week to week in Patrick Vieira’s mind.

“Quite clearly, that long term successor to Aaron Wan-Bissaka hasn’t been sourced and it may well be that Aaron ends up being his own replacement in the fullness of time.”

Selhurst Park, Roy Hodgson, Crystal Palace

Think you're the biggest Crystal Palace fan? Then who is the club's record signing?

The Crystal Palace academy graduate wouldn’t be the first one to venture off to Old Trafford, see it not work out as planned, and then return to Selhurst Park with Wilfried Zaha doing the exact same ad his career has turned out quite good having netted 81 goals for the Eagles during his career.

With the £27m-rated full-back still having two years left to run on his current contract and the likes of Roma and Atletico Madrid holding an interest in him, it will certainly not be an easy deal for the Eagles to pull off, however, the pull of going home and fitting into a young and growing team under Patrick Vieira could put Palace near the front of the queue.
