Fabrizio Romano believes that Arsenal target Gabriel Jesus will leave his current club this summer.

The £45m-rated Jesus, who has been described as a “superstar”  by BT Sport pundit Steve McManaman, sees his £91k-per-week contract expire at the end of next season.

With City’s recent announcement of Erling Haaland it is clear that club don’t see the Brazilian as their leading talisman despite scoring five goals in his last three league games since rumours of a Gunners switch emerged.

Would Gabriel Jesus improve Arsenal?

Yes!

Yes!

No!

No!

Romano has now revealed that although Jesus is interested in a switch to north London, Edu and company will face competition when it comes to signing the 25-year-old.

Speaking on the Gazzetta dello FIVE YouTube show he said:

(6:15)“There is an interest on Gabriel Jesus’ side for the Arsenal project, they had direct conversations with Arsenal. So it’s something absolutely serious between Gabriel Jesus and Arsenal.

“There are six more clubs interested and of course the player is now focusing on this final games with Manchester City because they are fighting to win the Premier League but on the same point the message on Gabriel Jesus’ side is clear.”

“He’s happy with Arsenal project, he is tempted by this possibility. There are still no talks between Manchester City and Arsenal because Man City don’t want to be busy with players leaving before the end of the season. But I’m sure that Gabriel Jesus will leave this summer.”

TIF Thoughts on Jesus to Arsenal…

A familiar face of course to Mikel Arteta due to his time in Manchester and perhaps the Spaniard has identified the striker as the man to take the clubs to the next level.

As the Gunners close in on Champions League football, Jesus wouldn’t necessarily be taking a step down and would likely receive more game time which hasn’t always been the case at City.

The three-time Premier League winner boasts a very impressive 95 goals in 234 appearances for the Premier League champions, as well as 46 assists and could well be the goalscorer that the Gunners need.
