Presenter Dan Lawless has expressed concern over the fitness of West Ham United defender Kurt Zouma amid current injury fears.

Over the weekend, the Hammers’ hopes of making the top four by the end of the Premier League season took a big hit as they lost 2-0 away from home against Brentford.

To make things worse, their ambitions this term could have suffered another blow as Zouma was forced off the field in the first half after picking an ankle injury. He is set to be assessed with an apparent injury issue.

TIF Thoughts on Kurt Zouma and West Ham…

As David Moyes has been unable to offer a full update on the player’s fitness, Zouma is possibly now a doubt for the Europa League quarter-final second leg against Lyon this week.

Having played every minute for West Ham during the knockout stages of the competition so far, it will certainly be a big blow for the club if he can’t take part on Thursday.

On top of that, the Frenchman has an average WhoScored rating of 7.13 this season when playing for the Hammers in Europe this term – only Declan Rice and Tomas Soucek have been rated higher.

With all that in mind, it’s easy to understand why Lawless feels the club will be in ‘trouble’ if his fears come true.
