Everton fans will be in love with what Anthony Gordon has posted on Instagram after winning the game for his side on Saturday.

Gordon, who was handed a string of starts for Everton under former manager Rafael Benitez, has managed to maintain his place for the majority of this season, having made 32 appearances across all competitions, but Saturday’s may have been the most important.

Has Gordon been Everton's POTS?

Yes!

Yes!

No!

No!

The young winger scored his fourth goal of the season against Manchester United via a deflection off Harry Maguire which ended up being the winning goal, while after Burnley failed to beat Norwich City, the Toffees ended the weekend four points above the bottom three.

Gordon, who has come through Everton’s academy, took to Instagram to post a video of his winning goal on Saturday with the caption ‘No better place’ in relation to playing at Goodison Park.

Which of these Serie A stars did the Toffees miss out on?

For a 21-year-old to grab a game of such magnitude by the scruff of the neck is very impressive, and that’s exactly what Gordon did on Saturday with the only goal of the game, while he also created the most shot-creating actions and blocked the most shots (FBRef), proving he’s willing to do it all at both ends of the pitch.

It has arguably been a surprising rise to fame for Gordon at Goodison Park considering he was out on loan at Preston in the Championship for the second half of last season, where he only started five games and failed to register any goal involvements, which could have pointed towards him not being ready for the Premier League, but he’s certainly dismissed any of that sort of talk.

The fact is that Gordon has come through the academy, is clearly fighting for the badge and would seemingly not rather be anywhere else in the world than playing for the Toffees if there really is ‘no better place’. With that in mind, there appears to be no reason for fans to be anything other than totally behind the Everton starlet.
