Journalist Dean Jones has claimed that Antonio Conte may well throw his toys out the pram in the summer if the club doesn’t match his ambition.

Antonio Conte has been public about where he feels the side needs to improve, and in January the issues failed to be resolved.

However, Conte did manage to bring in Rodrigo Bentancur and Dejan Kulusevsi from Juventus and the pairing have impressed in the early stages of their Spurs carers. Kulusevski has been particularly impressive since he arrived in England, he has seven-goal contributions in 10 Premier League games. Whilst Bentancur has featured 10 times in all competitions since signing for the club from Juventus.

Despite bringing in Bentancur and Kulusevski, there were other areas of the pitch that Conte felt needed to be improved, and Dean Jones highlighted to GIVEMESPORT that if he isn’t backed again in the summer, then we could see a similar situation in terms of Conte being left unhappy.

“Conte has been clear since the day he went to the club where he feels his team needs strengthening. They didn’t give him what he needed in January, and that’s why they have to in the summer. If Tottenham doesn’t strengthen by the time we come to August in those positions, I can definitely see a situation again where Conte’s throwing his toys out the pram,” Jones said.

How well do you know where these Spurs signings came from? Take our quiz to find out! Firstly, where did Dimitar Berbatov arrive from?

It has been claimed that the funds for Cristian Romero have already been put aside this summer, but it remains to be seen as to how much the £33 million will affect the budget left for other players.

Antonio Conte has now managed 28 games for Spurs and his side currently sit in fourth place in the Premier League. However, Conte is keen to get new talent in the door in the summer, and with his January signings paying off, that may be enough to prove to Daniel Levy that he can be trusted with making big-money signings.

If Spurs do qualify for the Champions League, and they do not invest in new players, then Conte may well walk from his role as it will be the second transfer window that he has not been heavily backed. Especially as he has already kicked up a fuss in the current campaign and has expressed his desire to see Harry Kane stay, which is another factor which could cause Conte to become rather angry at Tottenham should the Englishman leave.
