Tottenham Hotspur ace Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg has taken to Instagram to issue a potentially worrying image following their latest victory.

The Lilywhites won in emphatic fashion on Saturday afternoon against Aston Villa despite enduring a difficult first half against the home side.

However, after the game, the Danish midfielder posted an image of his knees covered with two large ice packs – presumably while still in the away dressing room.

And a large cut down the 26-year-old’s right shin can also be seen as he captioned his Instagram post: “4 goals, 3 points, 2 ice bags and 1 team.”

It was apparent some of his Spurs teammates were delighted with the midfielder’s display at Villa Park, which was awarded a 9/10 rating from journalist Alasdair Gold.

Sergio Reguilon was one of the players to take to the comments section as he hailed Hojbjerg as a ‘warrior’ following the huge three points earned against Steven Gerrard’s side.

Hojbjerg has been a virtually permanent feature in the Spurs squad since the beginning of the 2020/21 campaign after signing from Southampton.

He has featured in 29 of their 31 Premier League games this season, starting all 29, with 19 of those appearances coming under Antonio Conte.

The Italian will not want to lose his Danish midfielder through injury at this stage of the season with the north Londoners currently holding on to the final spot in the Premier League’s top four.

And a potential layoff for Hojbjerg would certainly come as a big blow to Conte, who is already without Oliver Skipp through injury, leaving Harry Winks as the only senior central midfielder on the bench.

After scoring early Villa were just out to kick us. Cash’s follow through was a red card, as was Youngs assault on Kane. They full deserved the 4 goal pasting. No class.
