Tottenham Hotspur fans will be furious with footage to emerge on Twitter of a challenge on Dejan Kulusevski at the weekend.

Spurs opened up a gap on their top-four rivals with three points on Saturday, however, some fans may feel they should have been playing against 10 men for the majority of the game against Aston Villa.

Should Mings have been carded?

Footage emerged of a reckless challenge from Tyrone Mings on their Swedish forward, which saw the Aston Villa defender wipe out the 21-year-old, with the England defender having got to the ball first.

And it was a similar challenge to the one from Matty Cash on Matt Doherty, which ended the Irishman’s season after he sustained ligament damage.

Mings escaped from the incident without a booking as the Swedish ace was left clutching his left leg on the floor as a result of the heavy challenge.

Although Conte will not want to see any of his players leave the game through injury, with Kulusevski showing such impressive form since signing, losing him would have been a real blow.

TIF Thoughts on the footage…

Judging by the earlier tackle from Cash on Doherty, it was apparent referee Graham Scott was not going to give Mings a yellow card for this challenge as he deemed the defender ultimately won the ball.

And although the Englishman did get there first, it is apparent these types of challenges show very little consideration for the opponent.

Villa played with plenty of enthusiasm and fight in the first half, however, from a Spurs point of view, perhaps the referee set the precedent early after not punishing Cash for the challenge on Doherty.
