Tottenham Hotspur could turn their attention to Juan Cuadrado in the summer transfer window if they fail to land some of their other targets.

This is according to football journalist Pete O’Rourke who was speaking to This Is Futbol about the upcoming window for the Lilywhites.

There is still an awful lot to play for this season in north London with Spurs and Arsenal battling it out for a spot in next season’s Champions League.

However, they have still been linked with summer targets already with Middlesbrough’s Djed Spence believed to be a right wing-back on the shortlist in N17.

And O’Rourke believes Fabio Paratici could make a move to his former team, Juventus, for their Colombian, Cuadrado, who is set to become a free agent at the end of the campaign:

“Maybe if they’re not able to land a Djed Spence or a [Tino] Livramento, Cuadrado could fit the bill,” said O’Rourke.

TIF Thoughts on Cuadrado joining Spurs…

Indeed, Cuadrado has grown quite a close relationship with Paulo Dybala, which can be seen through their social media reactions as the Argentinian took the mick out of the Colombian earlier this season.

It is certainly a move that we could see happening with Cuadrado set to be able to join a new side for free in the summer, however, we do wonder how Matt Doherty’s form has affected Antonio Conte’s thinking.

In recent weeks the Irishman has shown some fine form with two goals and three assists in his last six Premier League appearances under the 52-year-old before going off injured at the weekend against Aston Villa (via Transfermarkt).

With this in mind we do wonder whether a younger alternative may be desired, however, a player of Cuadrado’s experience would certainly be an attractive option as a free agent.
