Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy is said to be desperate to make the appointment of Antonio Conte work.

This has been claimed by Spurs correspondent Jack Pitt-Brooke, who was speaking on The View From The Lane podcast to discuss the future of Harry Kane.

Do you expect Levy to back Conte in the summer?

Kane’s future has already been questioned ahead of the summer window, however, Pitt-Brooke believes the Spurs chairman will not be willing to sell the striker this summer.

Conte has made it clear he has not been impressed with how the club dealt with the January transfer window, leaving big expectations for the upcoming summer market.

As Spurs aim to seal the final spot in the top four of the Premier League table, Pitt-Brooke believes Levy is desperate to make Conte’s time at Spurs a success following the suggestions over the 52-year-old’s future.

He said: “Their [Kane & Conte] futures are intertwined in the sense that if Kane were to be sold, I think Conte’s position becomes untenable. I don’t see how Conte could accept being at Tottenham if Levy were to sell Kane.

“And given how desperate, desperate, desperate Levy is to make the Conte appointment work out, I can’t see how Levy can possibly accept Kane leaving, because of what it would mean for Conte.”

TIF Thoughts on Pitt-Brooke’s comments…

This will likely fill Spurs fans with a lot of hope for things to come in the summer transfer window given Conte has already called out the board for their dealings in January.

However, we do feel their end to the season could have a big influence on their summer transfer window, with the Champions League a huge lure for players across Europe.

But Pitt-Brooke’s comments will certainly please Spurs fans, who will be hoping to see Tottenham’s improvement under Conte continue with some new additions in the summer.

If Conte is backed to the hilt, we WILL win things. I think that’s assured.Whether or not he will be or only partially? That remains to be seen.
