Tottenham Hotspur could land Christian Eriksen in the summer with the Dane having a good relationship with the club and Antonio Conte.

This is according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, who has been speaking on the Que Golazo YouTube channel ahead of the summer window.

Do you want Eriksen back in the summer?

No

Eriksen will become a free agent at the end of the season having signed a short-term loan with Brentford back in January after being released by Inter.

According to football.london, the 30-year-old midfielder is not looking to leave London in the summer when he looks for a new side.

And Romano believes the relationship with Conte could play a big role in the Lilywhites’ hopes of potentially bringing Eriksen back to N17 having left two years ago.

He said: “Tottenham, a lot of rumours and it could be a possibility, a really interesting possibility, because with Antonio Conte, the relationship at the end of the last season was very good.

“With Inter, it was not easy at the beginning of the season, but then everything changed since January and so they restarted everything and Inter won the league thanks to Christian Eriksen’s performances. So this is why it could be a possibility.”

TIF Thoughts on Romano’s comments…

We are intrigued to see how this pans out in the summer given the reports of Spurs being interested, while Conte has publicly confirmed he is looking for a playmaker in the summer.

Although Eriksen’s history with Spurs is obvious, he also has a recent past with Conte during their time at Inter, which saw the midfielder finish the 2020/21 campaign strongly.

And given Conte is looking for a playmaker, Eriksen seems like the perfect man for the job given his previous with the club and the fact he will be available on a free.
