Lucas Paqueta has dropped a potentially exciting transfer hint as he’s liked a Newcastle United tweet after their latest victory.

The Magpies are currently in love with one of their Brazilian players as Bruno Guimaraes continues to impress on Tyneside after netting a brace and his third of the season yesterday – the same amount of goals he managed during his entire time spent in Ligue 1 with Lyon.

Would you like to see Newcastle sign Paqueta?

No!

Paqueta, who enjoyed a good time in midfield with international teammate Guimaraes, clearly has a great relationship with the ex-Lyon star off the pitch as well, having jetted over from France to watch Guimaraes score his first goal as a Newcastle player earlier this season at Southampton.

This came after the midfielder had been linked with a move to Tyneside this summer and he appears to have only fanned the flames even more by liking a picture from Newcastle United’s Twitter account of Guimaraes and Joelinton celebrating.

TIF Thoughts on Paqueta…

How well do you remember Newcastle's January transfer window? An easy one to start with: where did Newcastle sign Bruno Guimaraes from?

Prior to PIF taking over Newcastle United, it may have been only imaginable in Newcastle fans’ wildest dreams that they could potentially line up with a Brazilian trio in midfield with two of them being internationals, but if Paqueta does join in the summer, that would become a reality.

While this social media activity could merely be Paqueta showing support for his former club teammate, it certainly appears that he has taken a liking to Newcastle United over recent weeks and months.

It has been reported that Paqueta would likely cost £33m, which may put PIF off a deal considering that Luke Edwards has also reported that Eddie Howe will only have £60m to spend in the summer transfer window with other areas of the pitch likely to be addressed, so fans shouldn’t get too excited about Paqueta arriving on Tyneside just yet.
