Presenter Joe Thomlinson has been discussing on the Football Daily YouTube channel the idea of Tammy Abraham joining Liverpool.

With Roberto Firmino currently on course for a record low amount of league starts since he joined Liverpool back in 2015 and Diogo Jota thriving wherever he plays – whether that is out wide to through the middle – it’s sure to be interesting to see how Liverpool’s front three looks after the summer transfer window.

Would Abraham be a good signing for Liverpool?

Yes!

Yes!

No!

No!

Both Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah are out of contract in 2023, but with both Luis Diaz and Jota already proving they are more than capable of potentially taking over from the duo when they depart, Jurgen Klopp may look for a slightly different option this summer.

Dougie Critchley, who accompanied Thomlinson on the Sunday Vibes video, claimed that Abraham was ‘gettable’ for Liverpool this summer after a stunning campaign in Serie A where he’s netted 15 goals already, however, Thomlinson was not so sure he’d fit in at Anfield.

He said: “I would be really shocked to see a player like Tammy Abraham come into Liverpool, I think he’s [Klopp] more likely to spend money on a versatile forward that can play all the way across the frontline, a bit akin to Diogo Jota and Luis Diaz.”

Which flop signed with Luis Suarez?

Abraham has claimed that Jose Mourinho has turned him into a ‘monster’ since moving to Italy. The move to Italy also allowed him to escape playing against Virgil van Dijk, who the Englishman has described as a player he hates playing against due to him being an absolute ‘beast’.

While Abraham is having a stunning campaign out in Serie A under Jose Mourinho after being discarded by Chelsea, who replaced him with a struggling Romelu Lukaku for £97.5m, the striker would surely love to come back and prove any doubters wrong in the Premier League.

The striker currently boasts the most goals of any English striker at the moment, so he may well back himself to challenge Harry Kane for some more competitive minutes under Gareth Southgate, and the best place to do that would be in the Premier League, but perhaps not with a team such as Liverpool, who like to have their attackers switching a lot during the games, and putting Abraham out wide would be a big waste.
