Leeds United forward Tyler Roberts has had a laugh at the expense of Luke Ayling after his teammate was smacked in the face by the ball during their last match.

While the Whites’ game against Southampton may well be best remembered for James Ward-Prowse’s fine free-kick that ultimately settled the game as a draw, one other incident has caught the eye in the aftermath.

Indeed, the club’s official Instagram page shared a clip of Ayling comedically taking a ball to the face when trying to close down a pass from opposition player Mohammed Salisu. He ends up splayed on the floor for a moment before getting to his feet with a grin on his face.

It seemed Roberts found the moment pretty funny as he added the clip to his Instagram story with a laughing emoji, including the caption: ”Never fails to entertain.”

TIF Thoughts on Luke Ayling and Leeds…

Ayling recently showed his outstanding character in an interview with BBC Sport where he opened up on overcoming his fear of public speaking due to a stammer.

And his ability to laugh off the painful incident in the Southampton games shows that he certainly doesn’t take himself too seriously either.

Over the past couple of seasons, back in the Premier League, the former Arsenal youth player has been a stalwart for Leeds, showing there is plenty of footballing ability to going alongside his personality.

He’ll no doubt hope to ensure the Whites retain their top-tier status as they try and maintain the gap between themselves and the bottom three for the final stretch of the current campaign.
