Liverpool ace Mohamed Salah is not interested in making a move to La Liga amid his current contract issues.

This is according to football journalist Fabrizio Romano, who was speaking about the Egyptian’s contract latest on the latest Here We Go podcast.

Do you think Salah will sign a new deal?

Yes

Yes

No

No

Reports suggest the 29-year-old is still stuck in stalled contract talks with the Anfield side as he seeks a new and improved deal to extend his stay on Merseyside.

Salah still has just over one year remaining on his current deal, which is believed to have the winger earning a weekly wage of £200k.

And amid Salah’s contract talks, it is thought Barcelona have shown some interest in potentially taking him from Jurgen Klopp, however, Romano believes a La Liga move does not currently interest him.

He said: “On Mo Salah’s side, what I’m always being told is that he has no interest in [a] La Liga move, as of now. Let’s see in the future, let’s see what happens, but as of now, he’s not like desperate to leave Liverpool and join La Liga clubs. It’s something that is not in his mind.”

TIF Thoughts on Romano’s comments…

Romano’s comments will, of course, please the Liverpool fans hoping to see the Egyptian extend his stay at Anfield amid the two parties believed to be struggling to land a deal.

Salah’s importance to the club is clear as he tops the Premier League goalscoring charts this season with the Reds in search of dethroneing Manchester City at the top of the table.

However, regardless of whether Salah wants to stay at Liverpool or not, if they cannot find an agreement, the winger may have no other choice but to search for a different club in the near future.
