Leeds United journalist Conor McGilligan has posted a motivational eight-word message to the club and the fanbase on Twitter.

Leeds fans will have been watching the midweek Premier League fixture with very close attention given it involved two teams directly below them in the table. The result saw their buffer zone to the bottom three reduced to just six points having played two more games than Burnley and Everton.

Will Leeds avoid relegation?

Yes!

Yes!

No!

No!

However, Leeds have a very winnable fixture this weekend against Watford, who occupy a spot in the bottom three. A win would see them tick another game off while picking up three points and decreasing the likelihood of them dropping down into the Championship.

This is what McGilligan has been trying to drill home to Leeds fans, simply tweeting out: “Beat Watford it’s over, sounds simple, doesn’t it?”

This was a low point in Leeds United's history, but how many points did they get in the 2003/04 campaign?

A few weeks ago, before Marcelo Bielsa was sacked, Leeds’ chances of staying in the Premier League appeared to be getting slimmer and slimmer as they shipped a whole load of goals and struggled for wins, but now under Jesse Marsch, they are unbeaten in their last three matches.

Leeds are now also starting to get their star players fully fit, with the likes of Kalvin Phillips and Liam Cooper back in contention ahead of their clash against Watford, which could be the game that sees them all but safe if other results go their way and sides below them continue to struggle, such as Everton and Watford themselves, who have not found any consistency all season.
