Leeds United are still embroiled in a relegation battle this season, holding just a five-point advantage over the drop zone.

Their task to stay in the league looks to have got that bit tougher for Jesse Marsch and his men, as Adam Forshaw has announced that he will be out for the season after suffering an injury in training.

Forshaw has had a good season for Leeds so far, although under the previous regime, he was still rewarded with a new contract in January this year.

He took to Instagram to share an emotional update, writing: “I’m gutted with the news that my season is over after an unfortunate injury in training. But since my return, I’ve loved every minute this season and can’t wait for the next already.”

His teammates flooding to the comments section to convey their support for their colleague, including Brazilian ace Raphinha:

Marsch will have to make do without a key player for the remaining six games, with Premier League football far from a certainty at Elland Road next season.

Which comedian supports the Whites?

The midfielder has been a vital member of the squad when he’s been fit, playing 22 games in the Premier League – starting 17 – for the Whites this campaign. With the update, Marsch will be forced to look elsewhere to find a deputy.

Although Forshaw being fit is what all Leeds supporters will want, to see a group of players so together shows the atmosphere in the camp and will give fans hope that they can pull through from now till the end of the season.
