Journalist Dean Jones has claimed that there are exciting times ahead for Leeds United under new boss Jesse Marsch.

Leeds United have struggled this season, as Marcelo Bielsa was sacked on the back of the leakiest month in Premier League history after they conceded 20 goals in February. The introduction of Jesse Marsch has brought a new lease of life at Elland Road, as the Whites are now four games unbeaten in the league ahead of their Monday night clash against Crystal Palace.

Do you think Leeds will remain in the Premier League?

It was an uninspiring January transfer window for Leeds, as they failed to make any signings despite attempting to lure American youngster Brenden Aaronson to West Yorkshire, having two bids rejected for him.

With the improvement on the pitch for Leeds under their new boss, Jones highlighted to GiveMeSport that Marsch has great ideas in terms of summer recruitment.

He said: “Now you’re starting to see that there’s life after Bielsa. Jesse Marsch is great, and he’s got ideas above and beyond maybe what Bielsa could do in this moment for Leeds United.

“So I think it should be seen as a very exciting time, particularly with some of the links that are starting to crop up.”

TIF Thoughts on Dean Jones’ comments…

Leeds United were in a very bad place before their recent spell of good form, as they were eight games without a win and were leaking goals all over the place, but now they have conceded just one goal in their last two games.

Marsch’s side are currently five points above the drop zone, and with six games to play in the league, they are still well amongst it in the relegation battle. However, with Kalvin Phillips returning to fitness and their current good form, this should be enough to ensure safety come the end of the season.

If Leeds do remain in the Premier League, this would be huge for Marsch in terms of summer recruitment as it will open their options in terms of players that will want to come to the club and play in the top flight, so we can see why Jones is so positive about their future under the American.
