Tony Scott has slammed the FA on the All Together Now podcast for their latest ‘lie’ to Everton.

The Toffees were denied what many perceived as a pretty nailed-on penalty when Anthony Gordon was bundled over by Joel Matip right in front of the travelling Everton fans, with the winger also booked for diving earlier in the game.

Should Lampard be punished by the FA?

Yes!

Yes!

No!

No!

Everton have been so angered by the decision that they’ve requested the PGMOL explain the reasoning as to why they were not awarded a penalty by either the on-pitch referee, Stuart Attwell, or the VAR team back in Stockley Park.

Journalist and co-host Greg O’Keeffe had previously claimed the FA said it was indeed checked – something Scott labelled as a lie.

He said: “Basically, VAR never checked that, that’s a lie, that’s what they’re claiming. It was too quick. Sky Sports couldn’t even give you a replay quick enough because Alisson had already taken the goal kick and the ball was in play, that’s how quick it went.”

Which of these Serie A stars did the Toffees miss out on?

Gordon himself even admitted in his post-match interview that he can see why the first penalty shout wasn’t given, but claimed that the Matip challenge left him in ‘significant pain’, which would point towards there being enough contact for a penalty.

However, while Scott was clearly angered with the FA claiming it was checked by VAR, he can’t really label it as a lie as he wasn’t in the VAR booth. While the check may not have been thorough, they could well have given it a very quick look over and saw nothing wrong.
