Everton: Supporters will be furious as footage of foul missed emerges

Everton supporters will be angered even more after their latest defeat once they see this footage (originated from Sky Sports) to have emerged of a blatant kick-out on Richarlison.

The Toffees once again failed to pick up anything from a game away from Goodison Park with West Ham United running out 2-1 winners, while Frank Lampard’s men were reduced to 10 for the third league game in a row.

Everton did get themselves back into the game when Mason Holgate’s effort took a wicked deflection past Lukasz Fabianski, only for an Alex Iwobi error to hand the Hammers the lead once again.

While nobody can argue that the two yellow cards that Michael Keane picked up weren’t deserved, Toffees fans may feel that their opponents should have been reduced to 10 men as well as Aaron Cresswell seemingly booted Richarlison in the chest with the Brazilian already on the floor.

TIF Thoughts on the missed incident…

Cresswell was given a yellow card by referee Michael Oliver and the incident was briefly checked by the VAR Andy Madley. This suggests that because it was the end of the game, Madley perhaps wasn’t as bothered about having a deeper look with West Ham seemingly having the game won, which is completely wrong as all incidents should be treated in the same fashion, regardless of the minute in the game.

Everton only managed to record two shots on target in the entire game and finished the match with an expected goals tally of just 0.8, signalling that they perhaps didn’t deserve anything from the game, despite Lampard saying the opposite. However, they may have been able to have more of a go at West Ham playing against 10 men.

With the Toffees having seen a man sent off for the third game in a row, it will surely frustrate them further that the VAR didn’t intervene and get the referee to send off Cresswell, like what happened against them during their dramatic victory against Newcastle United a few weeks ago.

Of course, it wouldn’t have made too much of a difference as it was in stoppage time, but the fact he got away with it will leave even more of a sour taste in the mouths of Everton fans, especially as they lost a man.
