Everton are enduring a disastrous season at the moment and now find themselves inside the relegation zone.

After such a poor season, you’d expect to see some changes on the pitch, axing those players not good enough and replacing them with options the manager will think will be a better fit.

Will Everton stay up?

One man that could be falling ill of that fate is Tom Davies, despite being out through injury. The midfielder has just a year left on his deal at his boyhood club, with the Toffees likely to listen to offers for him.

Paul Brown has been assessing the situation with Davies, going on record to say: “Tom Davies is another interesting one. He’s never pushed on to what Everton thought he could become. I think he only has a year left on his deal as well, so they probably would be open to offers. He’s been injured most of the season, so you’d think he’d be hard to shift, but as a homegrown player, he’d certainly help the profit and loss accounts if they were to bring some money in for him.”

TIF thoughts on Paul Brown’s comments…

If Davies isn’t in the future plans at Goodison Park, then moving him on this summer when the club can still get a fee for him is 100% the sensible thing to do. However, as Brown alluded to, his injury record could hamper a deal, or at least knock the value down.

It has been a disappointing season for the midfielder, he hasn’t featured since November when he was sidelined with a knee injury which is still keeping him out.
