Journalist Paul Brown has claimed that Jonjoe Kenny is likely to leave Everton in the summer when his contract is up.

Kenny has been out of favour this season for Everton, he has featured just 11 times in the Premier League for his side, and has been an unused substitute in the Toffees’ last two games.

Everton are currently in a relegation battle, they are one place above the relegation zone with just one point more than Burnley, who sit one place below them in the league standings.

With the contract of Jonjoe Kenny being up in the summer, Brown spoke to GiveMeSport and claimed that he can’t see the full-back signing a new deal with Everton.

He said: “Jonjoe Kenny is someone who has been on the chopping block for years. His contract is up and I can’t see a situation where he stays or is offered a new one.”

TIF Thoughts on Paul Brown’s comments…

Kenny has been seriously out of favour in a struggling Everton side this season. When he has played, he has been in poor form, in the Premier League for his side he has the seventh-worst average player rating (6.55), he has created zero big chances, and has just 38% accurate crosses on average per game, as per SofaScore.

With the Toffees being in such poor form, it shows how Kenny is rated at the club if he has not even been given a chance when the club is not performing well.

It is hard to see the English defender being offered a new deal at the club come the end of the season when his contract is over, and he will likely be shipped off, even if Everton do get relegated to the Championship.
