Ruben Neves is the most likely of the Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielders to leave in the summer transfer window.

That is according to football journalist Dean Jones who has spoken to This Is Futbol to discuss the future of Bruno Lage’s midfield men.

Would you be open to selling Neves?

Yes

Yes

No

No

The Portuguese manager could be without Joao Moutinho next season with the midfielder’s future under doubt with reports from abroad (via Sport Witness) linking him with a potential move as his contract looks set to expire.

Neves has also been linked with a potential move away from Molineux with the likes of Arsenal and Manchester United previously linked with the midfielder

And Jones believes, given the interest which has previously been shown in Neves, the 25-year-old would be the most likely to be sold in the summer:

If I was to say the one most likely to go, probably Neves. Just because there’s been the most interest in him to this point and the level of clubs that are after him,” said Jones.

“I think he probably deserves the chance to move if he wants to now too. So I’d say if I was to guess which one goes I’d go with Neves.

TIF Thoughts on Jones’ comments…

We agree with Jones in thinking Neves is certainly the most attractive of the options from the Wolves midfield to other sides ahead of the summer window.

Neves is still just 25-years-old and has bags of experience under his belt across the Premier League and Champions League during his time with Porto (via Transfermarkt).

However, he has been a mainstay in the Wolves side over the last few years and we would expect Lage t0 be adamant about keeping the midfielder at Molineux.

Neves has already made 31 appearances under Lage this season and with Moutinho’s future in doubt, we will be interested to see what kind of offers may arrive for the 25-year-old.
