West Ham United are currently enjoying a brilliant season in the Premier League and Europa League. They’re currently 7th in the table and are into the quarter-finals of the Europa League, setting up a mouthwatering clash with Lyon.
Despite the season reaching a critical point, the transfer strategy for the summer is already way underway, with clubs looking at who they can bring in and where they need to improve their squads for the new season.

West Ham insider ExWHUEmployee has suggested that the club should be making a move for James Ward-Prowse, saying the following: “I’d definitely take him I think he’s a great player again and one that should be realistic. I mean it depends whether other clubs come in for him, but given that he plays for Southampton, it should be realistic for us because not only is he a great player he’s great for set pieces as well. You know, he is so good from penalties, free kicks, etc, etc. But I think he’d be a brilliant addition if we can realistically get him.”

He’s been an ever present this season in the Premier League for Southampton, bar the two games he missed for suspension. In that time he has six goals and four assists, proving to be a real asset.

His set piece abilities are unreal – he is currently second on the all-time list for direct free-kick goals in the Premier League, only David Beckham has more. He is just six behind the former Manchester United man and has his eyes set on the record.
Dubbed a “machine” by his teammates at Southampton, there’s no doubt that the £40m-rated Englishman could add quality to the West Ham setup, but how easy would it be to take the club captain away from St Mary’s.
