Phil Hay revealed Leeds United ace, Stuart Dallas, was left struggling in the latter stages of the game after a heavy challenge from Joao Moutinho.

The Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder landed a high challenge on the left leg of the 30-year-old Leeds ace in the build-up to Rodrigo’s equaliser.

Should this have been a red card?

It was a night of mixed emotions for Jesse Marsch as his side came back from behind to secure three valuable points but also suffered a number of injury setbacks.

The victory at Molineux saw the Whites pull slightly clear of the relegation battlers but having now played at least an extra game to the sides around them.

Patrick Bamford, Illan Meslier, Mateusz Klich and Diego Llorente went off through injuries all inside the opening 55 minutes of the game (via SofaScore).

And it seems they may have picked up another injury along the way with Dallas suffering for the final 20 minutes of the game after the heavy challenge, as Hay tweeted on the Northern Irishman’s struggle:

“Think in any other circumstances, Dallas would have gone off. In loads of pain,” Hay tweeted.

TIF Thoughts on Hay’s comments…

We are incredibly surprised Joao Moutinho was not shown a straight red card for the challenge which did actually go to VAR but was not deemed to be worthy of a dismissal.

The Portuguese midfielder’s studs planted high on the leg of the Leeds ace who – as Hay mentioned – was left in a lot of pain as a result.

And had Wolves have been reduced to nine men then Leeds would certainly have fancied their chances of adding a few more to their tally on the night.
