James Tavernier has posted on Instagram a motivational message following Rangers’ Europa League progression.
Rangers’ captain played the full 90 minutes away to Red Star Belgrade in the Europa League and managed to restrict the home side to just two goals, ensuring that the Gers progressed into the quarter-finals.

Tavernier was a massive thorn in Belgrade’s side over both legs having netted a goal and registered an assist in the first leg and then was only dribbled past once last night as Rangers showed their maturity and ability to perform in big games to only lose 2-1.
The Gers’ skipper took to Instagram after the match to claim the progression into the next round was an ‘unbelievable achievement’ by the team.

Given that Tavernier cost Rangers just £225,000 back in 2015 when he joined them from Wigan Athletic, it’s safe to say he should go down as one of their best value for money signings in the club’s history as he’s racked up 333 appearances and guided his side to their first SPFL title in 10 years last season.
Tavernier has only missed one game in the Europa League this season which was a dead rubber match in the group stage against Lyon and has shown his ability, especially in the final during the business end of the competition having scored four goals in his last four European matches,
It’s clear to see that Tavernier knows what this means not just for the players and himself, but also the fans and the club claiming that this achievement is for ‘everyone involved’ which will only endear him to the fanbase even more.
