Ange Postecoglou’s side took a three goal lead with just 55 minutes on the clock. Daizen Maeda opened the scoring, giving the visitors a slim lead at the break. Nicky Devlin converted into his own net before James Forrest completed Celtic’s scoring.

Then, within 60 seconds of making it 3-0, the hosts pulled one back through Andrew Shinnie. It wasn’t enough and the Bhoys saw out the win with relative ease.

One man’s performance that didn’t go unnoticed by ex-Scotland boss Craig Levein was Carl Starfelt. Reporting for the BBC, he had the following to say: “Carl Starfelt has been excellent today. He’s been aggressive, his use of the ball has been terrific.”

He won 80% of his aerial duels, and had 102 touches throughout the game. That shows not only his dominance in the air at the back, but also his importance in getting on the ball at the back, being composed and setting attacks off.
