Journalist Graeme Young has claimed that Karamoko Dembele could potentially remain in Scotland next season with Celtic.

Karamoko Dembele, unfortunately, fractured his ankle in a pre-season friendly against Bristol City which has seen him sidelined for the majority of the season so far.

Dembele has now made two appearances for Celtic this season since his return to action, he featured once in the SFA Cup and once in the Scottish Premiership, both from the bench, according to Transfermarkt.

However, he caught the eye of some people recently with his brace for the club’s B team.

Graeme Young spoke on the Record Celtic Podcast and identified that the situation has changed for the young winger over the past few years.

(12:28) When asked if Karamoko Dembele will be at the club next season “Potentially, I think the landscape has changed for Karamoko Dembele over the last couple of years in terms of his market and where he is,” Young said.

TIF Thoughts on Karamoko Dembele…

After bursting onto the scene as a teenager, Karamoko Dembele featured for Celtic under 20s when he was just 13 years old and made his first-team debut in 2019 for the Hoops.

Since then, Dembele has failed to produce a consistent run of games in the first-team having only featured 10 times across four seasons, but it’s safe to say that the 230 days he’s missed due to injury haven’t helped.

Dembele may struggle to force his way in at Celtic due to the amount of attacking options that Ange Postecoglou has at his disposal, with the likes of Daizen Maeda, Jota, Liel Abada, James Forrest, Tom Rogic and Kyogo already in similar positions. However, perhaps Ben Doak’s supposed exit could give Dembele a potential way in, as the 16-year-old seemingly impressed in just the 25 minutes he was given.
