Journalist Pete O’Rourke believes that if Romain Saiss was to exit Molineux this season, he would be a massive miss for Wolves.

Saiss has been a mainstay in Bruno Lage’s side this season, featuring in 24 out of the 26 Premier League games that Wolves have played, according to Transfermarkt.

Wolves have the fourth-best defensive record in the Premier League this campaign, with only the top three sides conceding fewer than their 21 goals.

However, Moroccan outlet Hespress has reported that Sevilla are eyeing up the Wolves defender.

O’Rourke has highlighted to GiveMeSport just how much of a miss Saiss would be to Wolves if he was to exit at the end of the season when his contract expires.

He said: “It would be a big blow to lose someone like Romain Saiss, especially on a free transfer. His contract is up in the summer. He’s been a key player for Bruno Lage as a left-sided centre-back. He’s contributed a few goals as well from set pieces and he’s a good, experienced player in that Wolves backline.”

TIF Thoughts on Romain Saiss…

Saiss has been a constant in the Wolves side over the past three seasons, but with his contract up at the end of this season, he could be set for a move away from Molineux.

This would be a great miss to Wolves, as he has formed a solid trio with Max Kilman and Conor Coady. Saiss has been vital for Lage this season, while he has an average match rating of 7.06/10 in the league over the past 12 months, as per SofaScore. This form will arguably be key in the remainder of the season as Wolves push for a European place.

If Wolves fail to achieve a European finish this season, Saiss could seek a move away from Molineux to a team that competes in Europe, so you can see how Sevilla could lure him away and why O’Rourke has expressed his concerns.
