Wolverhampton Wanderers’ game with Leeds United will be one they want to forget as soon as possible. They squandered a comfortable 2-0 lead in the second half to a struggling team. On top of that, they lost key players through injury and suspension.

First of all they lost Ruben Neves after he was forced off after just 25 minutes, with it being reported he could be out until May. Later on in the clash, Raul Jimenez was sent off, missing the next two games.

This all adds to the worries as Pedro Neto has been absent as of late too, meaning Lage is three key players down as his side look to secure European football.

Pete O’Rourke spoke about the impact it could have, saying: “It’ll be a huge blow if they’re missing those three games for a few weeks. Raul Jimenez is obviously Wolves’ main striker and he’s definitely out for the next few games.”

TIF thoughts on Wolves’ problems…

Lage will be boosted by the fact he now has strength in numbers up top. Once upon a time it was only Jimenez who Wolves could really rely on, but they now have Hwang Hee-Chan in reserve to slot in, as well as Fabio Silva.
