Journalist Pete O’Rourke has claimed that despite signing a new contract in November, Wolves defender Max Kilman deserves a new deal at Molineux.

Max Kilman has been a mainstay in the Wolves defence this season, he has featured in 28 Premier League games whilst scoring once, according to Transfermarkt.

Wolves have been excellent at the back this season in the Premier League under Bruno Lage, only the top four have conceded fewer goals than them (23). And, it’s safe to say that the Englishman has played a part in that, which has seen him attract the attention of pundits like Micah Richards.

And, Pete O’Rourke has now spoken to GIVEMESPORT and said that after the season Max Kilman is having, he “deserves” a new deal.

“He probably deserves a new contract but you’ve got to remember he only signed a new deal in November, so it’s not that long ago. But I’m sure it’s something Wolves are continually monitoring to see what they can do to try and ensure Max Kilman is happy at the club,” O’Rourke said.

TIF Thoughts on Max Kilman…

Max Kilman is enjoying his most successful season as a player to date, as before this, the most appearances he has made in the top flight was last campaign when he featured 18 times, but this season he has already made 28 appearances, as stated above.

The 24-year-old defender has been a consistent performer for his side this season, and over the past 12 months, he has an average player rating of 7.01, as per Sofascore. He’s been pretty solid across the board in terms of defensive stats as he currently averages 1.5 interceptions per game, 1.5 tackles per game and 3.5 clearances per game.

According to The Athletic, Max Kilman’s impressive performances haven’t gone unnoticed, England boss Gareth Southgate is closely monitoring his progress and could call him up to the national squad if he continues his good form.

If Kilman gets a call up for England, then his price tag may rise even further, and Wolves will want to get a new contract sorted so they can either secure his services or get a suitable amount of money from another club for him.
