Richard Keys has claimed that the news that Everton Football Club are for sale is not surprising and he knew it 3/4 months ago.
The news has recently been revealed that Farhad Moshiri is supposedly ready to sell Everton due to his business partner Alisher Usmanov being sanctioned.
So, things aren’t looking good off the field for the Toffees, and it is not too dissimilar on the pitch either with Everton currently sitting just one place above the relegation zone, level on points as Watford who sit below them.
Interestingly, Richard Keys spoke on his Personal Blog and made a sarcastic comment implying that the news Everton will be sold isn’t a surprise at all.
“According to the Sunday Mirror this weekend – Everton are for sale. Who’d have thought? I should’ve mentioned that 3/4 months ago.” Keys said.
TIF Thoughts on Everton…
Indeed, losing Usmanov’s funding will come as a significant blow for the Toffees as they’re currently in the process of building a brand new stadium.
Of course, getting rid of Farhad Moshiri would surely only be seen as a good thing as everything he touches seems to turn to mud, but the whole timing of this isn’t ideal with potential relegation looming.
Although Everton sit one place above the bottom three, they do have three games in hand over Watford who sit one place below them, so if Lampard can get a few important points in these three games then they could ensure Premier League safety come the end of the season.
