Sky Sports reporter Jamie Weir was left furious on Tuesday night with the performance on Tottenham Hotspur ace Son Heung-min in their disappointing FA Cup loss.

The South Korean played the full 120 minutes of action just days after finding the back of the net in their Premier League win on Saturday.

Do you expect Conte to leave before next season?

However, he was not able to hit the same standards on Tuesday night against Middlesbrough as Spurs were sent packing in the fifth round of the FA Cup, with the Championship outfit prevailing.

With Spurs chasing a late victory in the 90 minutes, the 29-year-old squandered a golden opportunity to head Spurs into the quarter-finals of the cup.

And it was apparent Weir was not impressed by the experienced winger, who lost possession 24 times on the night at the Riverside Stadium: “My goodness, Sonny’s just having a stinker tonight,” Weir tweeted on Tuesday night.

TIF Thoughts on Weir’s comments…

We absolutely agree with the Sky Sports reporter’s judgement of Son’s performance. Spurs struggled all night and had just a handful of big opportunities to find the back of the net.

And regardless of whether Son had his best or worst game in a Spurs shirt, you would expect him to take his chances like the one near the end of the regulation time.

However, the South Korean lacked his usual cutting edge, which was summed up by his failure to complete any of his three attempted dribbles throughout the game (via SofaScore).
