Former Leeds United footballer Vinnie Jones has sent new manager Jesse Marsch a light-hearted message letting him know he is ready to play if needed.

Leeds have leaked goals this season, and they have the worst defensive record in the Premier League having conceded 61 goals, six more than any other side.

Bielsa was without club captain Liam Cooper through injury for parts of this season. The defender played 90 minutes in the first 14 Premier League matches before suffering his injury, which has evidently had a negative effect.

Vinnie Jones identified the problem that Leeds have had at the back this season, whilst also coming up with a cunning plan that new boss Jesse may want to take into consideration…

“They need to shore things up and protect the goal. Their recent results have been horrendous, conceding far too many goals. They need some steel in front of the defence, need to scrap for everything – they need to find the missing link. Leeds fans, I’ve got my boots ready. Jesse, just give me a call.”

TIF Thoughts on the comments from Vinnie Jones…

Of course, things haven’t always been easy for Bielsa with the likes of Diego Llorente, Liam Cooper, Robin Koch and Charlie Cresswell all spending time out of the side, so you have to take that into consideration.

Vinnie Jones was known in his playing days as a hard tackler who took no prisoners, and whilst the defending at Leeds this season has been poor at times, maybe they could have done with someone who has half the heart that Jones had whilst playing with Liam Cooper sidelined.

Although Jones only made 46 appearances for Leeds, he managed to establish himself as a bit of a cult hero. However, it’s safe to say that Jesse Marsch won’t be considering a surprise move for the 57 y/o.
