The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium’s naming rights could be included in a package of investment into the north London club as a whole.

That is according to ‘speculation’ that journalist Jack Pitt-Brooke has heard recently, as the topic was discussed on the latest episode of The View From The Lane podcast.

It is now coming up to the third anniversary of the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium opening its doors to Premier League action, and still, the club does not have a branded sponsor to take on the naming rights.

Reports emerged earlier in the month suggesting Daniel Levy is looking for a deal believed to be worth £500m over a 20-year period to take on the naming rights for the N17 ground.

However, speaking on the podcast, The Athletic journalist had the following to say on what he has heard could be going on with the subject of the naming rights sale:

“What I have heard recently on this is the suggestion that – and this is just speculation – it’s possible the naming rights deal would get packaged into some kind of investment into the club.

“For example, selling a stake in the club to someone and it could be attractive to them in that form. But I don’t know if any firm progress has been made on that.”

TIF Thoughts on Pitt-Brooke’s comments…

We are surprised Levy has been unable to find a suitable sponsor to take on the naming rights for the 62,000-seater stadium in north London.

It is hard to comprehend an attractive deal given how well the club have done to utilise the facilities of the stadium, with the likes of music concerts and the NFL being hosted there as well as the Premier League.

And there have been rumours of a potential investment opportunity possibly becoming available at Tottenham, so it will be interesting to see if Levy is trying to tie that in with the deal for the naming rights.
