Tottenham Hotspur had a weekend to forget in Manchester, not long after their memorable win up north at the Etihad.

They were downed by Manchester United three goals to two thanks to a hattrick from Cristiano Ronaldo. The Portuguese forward’s clinical edge and ruthlessness in front of goal was the difference between the sides on Saturday night.

Will Kane be at Spurs next season?

A penalty from Harry Kane and then a Harry Maguire own goal gave the visitors hope, only for that to be undone from a corner late on. An incredibly frustrating day for Spurs who could have easily got more out of the game with some of the chances they had.

Gary Neville on Sky Sports delivered his verdict on Kane following a key moment in the first-half: “I’m surprised Kane hasn’t hit that on his right foot, I really am. Kane is unselfish, he’s getting more with each game, but you’re expecting him to take on the shot instead of trying to feed Kulusevski.”

The chance he’s referring to looked like it was gearing up to be a typical Kane finish.

The space opened up on his right foot not far from goal and he opted against taking it alone andplayed the ball off to Dejan Kulusevski. It was certainly a surprising moment with the pedigree Kane has in those types of situations.
