Tottenham Hotspur suffered the worst possible result on Saturday evening, losing to fellow top four contenders Manchester United, falling further behind in the pursuit of Champions League football.

The game was taken away from Spurs by yet another Cristiano Ronaldo hattrick. They responded well to his opening goal with Harry Kane equalising via a penalty. Then a Harry Maguire own goal saw Antonio Conte’s side draw level again, but only for the game to be taken away from them by Ronaldo’s third goal late on.

There were promising signs there for Spurs, who could have easily come away with at least a point on another day. Will that be enough to entice Antonio Conte to stay at the club if he can make signings in the summer that can play to the level he needs in his system?

Doherty is definitely got to go, but Reguilon I think will be a much better player when we sort out the centre back position and give Reguilon the freedom to bomb forward.
