Tottenham Hotspur have had a mixed bag this season, securing some good results but also suffering from inconsistency at times.

Spurs are currently fifth in the league table and within touching distance of Arsenal who occupy that coveted last top four spot as things stand.

Antonio Conte’s men are currently three points behind Arsenal, but they have played a game more than their north London rivals. They’re going to have to rely on the Gunners slipping up at least once if they are to take fourth place while remaining perfect themselves.

Fabio Paratici is confident that Spurs are going in the right direction, talking in an official club interview, he had the following to say: “We are in a very good moment, not just about winning games but the performance of the team. The team improved a lot. You enjoy when you watch the game, Antonio [Conte] has done a fantastic job and the players too.

“They are working hard every day, they are so focused, so committed, so we are much better than four or five months ago. This is the most important thing for us and when we started this project in the beginning of the season, we said that we want to rebuild and achieve our target. It’s not just about the short term but long term project. We are going in the right direction.”

TIF thoughts on Paratici comments…

It’ll be frustrating for Spurs to go another season with no trophy, but they have certainly made some improvements since they replaced Nuno Espirito Santo with Antonio Conte.

If they can snatch the final top four spot from under the nose of their rivals then the season will be a major success, especially given the start they had. Next season will be a truer reflection of where they are, having Conte from the start and letting him have a full season and summer transfer window to prepare.
