Tottenham Hotspur Supporters’ Trust co-chair Katrina Law has claimed that they have not met with Daniel Levy since the club’s attempt to join the European Super League.

Back in April 2021, some of the continent’s most elite clubs shocked the footballing world as they attempted to break off into an exclusive breakaway league.

Included in that group, were the ‘top six’ clubs in England: Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester United, Manchester City and Tottenham.

However, the ESL faced huge backlash and all English clubs shortly withdrew their intentions to be a part of things. Despite that, a rift was caused between the club and fans after such a bad decision was initially made without supporter consent.

Now, while talking on the Last Word on Spurs podcast, Law spoke of how Levy and the board have not spoken face-to-face with the Supporters’ Trust since that incident.

She said: “I mean, pre-Covid and pre-ESL, we’d meet with Daniel and the board probably three times a year.

“We haven’t met with them in the whole of this year, since the ESL.”

TIF Thoughts on Daniel Levy and Spurs…

Law doesn’t necessarily say that the failed ESL breakaway is the reason for the lack of communication in recent times, and the mention of the pandemic somewhat explains why in-person meetings would have been hard to manage over the past year.

Even so, whatever the reason, many Spurs fans may well be concerned about that lack of frequent dialogue between the two groups over the past year or so.

Levy hasn’t always been the most popular man in north London and was criticised for his decision to move fans into the upper tier of the stadium to keep sponsorship banners closer to the pitch when the club welcomed supporters back late last season.

Had he been in more regular contact with the Supporters’ Trust, perhaps he would have been able to avoid the backlash caused by that decision.
