Newcastle United youngster Elliot Anderson will surely have Eddie Howe feeling pretty excited after he shared footage of a recent goal he scored for loan club Bristol Rovers.

For those who follow the Magpies, things have been going pretty well of late. Indeed, despite a narrow loss away at Chelsea over the weekend, the club are now safely above the relegation zone up in 14th-place.

In fact, that defeat was the first time they had lost in nine games and in that time it looks as though they have all but secured their status as a Premier League side next season.

Now, just to add a little excitement to things, Anderson has given supporters a glimpse of the club’s potential future with footage he shared on Instagram.

Indeed, while playing on loan for League Two club Bristol Rovers, he slalomed past a number of challenges, driving into the box, before calmly slotting his finish past the opposition goalkeeper.

TIF thoughts on Elliot Anderson and Newcastle…

Eddie Howe has already taken a keen interest in youth at Newcastle, so seeing a promising youngster like Anderson producing a finish of the highest order will surely only excite him.

The Scotland youth international joined Bristol Rovers on loan in January and had scored one goal and claimed two assists in his time with the club before this most recent outing.

It could be a valuable experience for the 19-year-old to get good game time over the remainder of the season, especially if he can keep scoring goals like that.

He does have two senior outings for the Magpies to his name already, though, showing how well he is thought of at the club. Even so, fans will likely be glad to see him scoring on loan, instead of making the occasional appearance for them.

And after this stunning solo effort, the future certainly looks bright for Anderson.
