The Magpies picked up their seventh win in their last eight games and stretched their unbeaten run to nine matches, which goes all the way back to December – before they even brought any new recruits into the club.

Newcastle were roared on by 3,300 away fans at Southampton but were also watched by three of their owners in Amanda Staveley, Mehrdad Ghodoussi and Jamie Reuben, who will be delighted with what they’re seeing from their players.
Reuben couldn’t hide his excitement after full time as he posted on his private Instagram account: ‘We need to talk about Bruno’ following Bruno Guimaraes’ match-winning performance – and the Brazilian midfielder shared it to his story, showing he was appreciative of the message.

It was a dream full debut for Bruno Guimaraes, who’s had to bide his time on the substitutes’ bench since arriving in January but made the most out of the 67 minutes he played last night by scoring the winning goal and earning a 10/10 from The Chronicle’s Lee Ryder.
Seeing their owners active on social media and praising the players as Reuben has done will surely delight Newcastle fans after they had to endure countless years under Mike Ashley of there being next to no communication between the owners and the fans or players.
