Emil Krafth has spoken on NUFC TV about the main reason behind Newcastle United’s recent good run of form.

Krafth has been a surprising star in recent weeks for Newcastle, having started the club’s previous three matches in the league, helping to keep a clean sheet and only shipping two goals in that period of time.

Who is a better right back?

Krafth!

Manquillo!

The Sweden international may find himself lucky to be in the team given that the two right-backs ahead of him picked up injuries in the same game, but he appears to have grasped his chance with both hands, keeping Javier Manquillo out of the side even though he’s back fit.

NUFC TV spoke to Krafth about the recent form and what was behind it. He said: “We have to continue what we have been doing the last few weeks, few months – working for each other, help each other out. That’s why we have been so good the last few months and I think we just have to just keep building on things we learned in training from the coaching staff.”

Newcastle PL appearances quiz! This man is the all-time top Premier League appearance maker for Newcastle, but how many did he make?

Eddie Howe will certainly find it difficult to drop Krafth considering he’s been part of a resolute and very impressive back four in recent weeks, but with the Magpies facing three away games in seven days, it’s only natural that he’ll drop out in the near future.

Therefore, he has to ensure that while he’s continuing to start games, his performances have to be top-notch and enough for Howe to feel he has to throw him back in whenever fit and ready to play – something that fans may never have expected when the manager arrived, given that Krafth’s started just 34 league games since he arrived in 2019.
