Fabrizio Romano has been speaking on the Que Golazo YouTube channel about the contract situation between Mohamed Salah and Liverpool.
It’s no secret that Liverpool and Salah have been attempting to thrash out a new contract agreement for a while, but as of yet, there has still not been anything signed, despite the winger claiming he wishes to stay with the Reds.
Does Salah deserve a new contract?
Yes!
No!
Salah is having yet another marvellous season with Liverpool, currently sitting on 27 goals and 10 assists across all competitions, proving once again that age clearly does not affect him – and if anything, it is making him better.
Despite there being no agreement in place and his current deal set to expire next summer, Romano claims that Liverpool have the situation under control.
He said: “It’s March, it’s getting dangerous, but at the same point, I’m told that Liverpool are still negotiating with Mo Salah, so they still feel the situation is under control, then let’s see.”

It’s very obvious that Salah deserves a new contract, but it all comes down to whether or not his wage demands fit into Liverpool’s current budget and structure, especially when other players such as Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino are also out of contact at the end of next season.
The Egyptian has become a Liverpool great during his time at Anfield, currently sitting on 114 Premier League goals, which puts him only behind Michael Owen, Steven Gerrard and Robbie Fowler, so it would be a major blow if he was to leave this summer, or even worse, for free next year.
