George Caulkin has been speaking on the latest episode of Pod on the Tyne about how PIF are looking to improve Newcastle United’s training ground.

Newcastle United likely have one of the worst training grounds in the Premier League with co-owner Amanda Staveley even admitting that it was awful after she helped broker a deal to buy the club last year.

Should Newcastle expand St James' Park?

Yes!

Yes!

No!

No!

While Caulkin confirming that they have plans to build a new one will excite fans and players, that could take years so action must be taken to improve the current Benton base.

Caulkin has confirmed that small things, such as motivational plaques and boards being put up, are being done.

“There’s been a lot of that [motivational changes] back at the training ground in Newcastle as well, when particularly Newcastle have been playing away, or when they went on their warm-weather training camp to Saudi Arabia they did a lot of that stuff back home.

“They can’t make that training ground, a wonderful world-class bit of infrastructure, they have plans to do that, of course, but they can make the most of what they’ve got.”

Newcastle PL appearances quiz! This man is the all-time top Premier League appearance maker for Newcastle, but how many did he make?

Newcastle United took a group photo after their latest win away to Brentford that displayed two plaques behind them saying ‘We are Newcastle’ and ‘We are United’ which is just a small glimpse into how Eddie Howe has slowly changed the mentality and feeling behind the scene as he looks to keep motivation high amongst his squad.

It’s clearly making a huge difference with Ryan Fraser claiming during his post-match interview (39:05) that he could’ve kept a reporter for days by talking about Howe and the changes behind the scenes, which is likely to be a huge reason why they are now unbeaten in seven league matches.
